CHRISTMAS & BOXING DAY AT BEN & BET'S HOME

Cake by Molly May

Dear All at B&B's home over Christmas.

Cc: Other family members who could not make it and select friends who love sharing social activities - photos to view if you have some time to spare!! Too many to drive you crazy!!

Thanks for joining us at our home on Christmas and Boxing Day.

Normally Christmas day is celebrated with all the family members and this has been the case in the past, but in today's times, this is not always possible as the kids have to visit their in-laws and this prevents all family members being together thus Christmas greetings are actioned on the phone or visits with exchange of presents taking place on Christmas Eve.

For the family members who were at our home on Christmas day, this time David,Yvette, Molly and Jacob May, Colin and Norma and Alan and Anita Rooke, made it a most wonderful Christmas all of us enjoying Betty's superb Christmas lunch etc.

Molly May, our grandchild certainly did well assisting Betty with the Christmas cake and also did all the Sugar Icing decoration. She even made the kulkuls which went down a treat. I am so proud Abigail, Molly and Emily enjoy learning from Betty her cake making and sugar icing skills and before long they will be producing all the fancy cakes. They all 3 have a natural hand for design and are very creative so in future it will be the Cake Production from our lovely 3 grandchildren and in time Sophie, (Winston and Lynn's) our youngest grandchild will follow suit.

Boxing Day was also special with our very close friends always joining us so thanks to Noel & Theresa Desmier, Alan & Anita Rooke, Yvonne Gomes, Robert and Norma King and the rest of our family members. Two days of eating and drinking and with all Colin's Champagne cocktails added to making us all merry and bright. This time we missed Alex & Anna as they spent all Christmas with Richard, Allison and their grandchildren in Luton. (Certainly missed Alex's entertaining jokes!).

How about the Card games on Boxing day afternoon, Betty as always was eliminated from playing as she was busy with the cooking as she says No Turkey on Boxing day so other dishes. We had some great games with Colin winning the first big game of BLUFF (similar to 7 hands but more fun) and Yvette winning the second.

Alex & Anna, we missed you greatly and also Joe and Louise, you too with Louise's laughs and dancing fun was missed. Pity you could not make it at the last minute but will catch up with you before you return to Croatia to your second dream home.

Yvette & Mike Muise, you too certainly had a fun packed Christmas with all your children and grandchildren celebrating at your home. I can imagine the action and look forward to your photographs in due course. It was wonderful speaking to you Rhoda. Jerome too, the global traveller we cannot catch up - one day in London and the other in Goa etc. We miss you all and hopefully one Chirstmas we all will be together. Our love shared with all of you.

As a token of rememberance of all the fun, I am sharing some photographs taken during the festive celebrations. Also thanks to Alan & Anita Rooke for the collection of their photographs which I have added to my collection on a seperate link titled ... Photos from Anita and Alan.

Best wishes to all our family members, children and grandchildren and to all our special friends.

Wishing one and all A Happy New Year and a fruitful one too. Also thanks for all the wonderful gifts.

Love

  1. Hi Betty & Benny

This is our official thank you for a wonderful time we had at your place at Christmas; Matilda was really superb! She was browned in all her glory and the content was simply delicious! The menu was well calibrated from start to finish - so balanced and executed with perfect timing.

Must congratulate Yvette for her delicious roast potatoes and parsnips - she truly did a marvellous job. We were both very impressed with Molly May's Christmas Cake decorations - bright kid, innovative approach and lots of attention to detail. Glorious delivery of art work by Molly - I think she has the DNA of her uncle James May who is constantly on our TV network..

Christmas time is always very special at your place - you both put in endless amount of effort and dedication in making the occasion so very memorable for all of us. It was great to spend time with Norma and Colin - Christmas is all about being with loved ones.

We have never under estimated the amount of leg work that goes into making this event so special. This herculean effort cannot be measured in words but through observation it is only fair to say that you have one heck of a perfect wife; the bionic lady who waves her magic wand in the kitchen and delivers a masterpiece. Betty is truly unique in what she does and without a fuss or a frown! She is your All- inclusive dream ticket to paradise!

Thanks once again for everything right through till Boxing day.

Love and Best wishes to both of you Suki & Sheba
    Allan Anita
